” Looking at the Crus outside Châteauneuf du Pape, Michel’s 2015 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes comes from higher elevation parcels and is 90% Grenache and 5% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. It’s a medium to full-bodied, structured, even tannic barrel sample that has the classic cedary spice, garrigue and pepper that’s hallmark of the appellation. It will need short-term cellaring, but should keep for 10- 15 years.” 90-92+/100 – Jeb Dennuck, Wine Advocate, 01/11/2016
” Dark purplish crimson. This sample smelt just a little tired unfortunately. There is massive ripeness here and almost animal savour. A little saltiness. This particular sample didn’t quite hang together and seemed a tad scrawny on the end but I can quite believe this was down to the condition of the sample rather than the intrinsic worth of the wine.” 15,5/20 – Jancis Robinson, Jancis Robinson, 14/10/2016
